If a threaded cable plug is used, install the O-ring. The O-rings on the connector are necessary to achieve the maximum environmental rating. If a cable plug is used, do not install the O-ring. Form a drip loop in the cable, see page. Note that before connecting or disconnecting the cable to the motor, the servo drive power must be turned off. If the cable is disconnected at the motor end, it must also be turned off. If the feeder power supply or brake cable is connected or disconnected when the servo drive is powered on, arcing or unexpected movement may occur. Take care to ensure that the cable is installed and restrained to prevent uneven tension or bending at the cable connector. Support shall be provided every meter foot throughout the cable laying process. When the cable is bent or the wires are separated at the cable gland, excessive and uneven lateral forces at the cable connector may cause the environmental seal of the connector to open and close. Verify that the O-ring is not damaged, twisted, and located in the groove near the rear of the connector. IMPORTANT The motor orientation shown is used to clearly show the alignment marks on each cable socket. The recommended motor direction during installation locates the connector at the bottom of the motor. Prompt that a fully secured threaded plug leaves approximately a small opening between the connector and the plug. Note the alignment of the keyed connector and hand tighten the recommended number of turns.
