The controller has been factory tested and is shipped with the default factory jumper settings described in the following sections. The controller operates with its required and factory-installed debug monitor, MVME162Bug (162Bug), with these factory jumper settings. Manually configurable items are listed in the following table.System Controller Select Header (J1) The RELIANCE 57C440 Embedded Controller is factory-configured as a VMEbus system controller by a jumper across J1 pins 1 and 2. If you select the “automatic’’ system controller function by moving the jumper to J1 pins 2 and 3, the controller determines whether it is the system controller by its position on the bus. If the board is in the first slot from the left, it configures itself as the “system controller”. If the RELIANCE 57C440 is not to act as the system controller under any circumstances, remove the jumper from J1. When the controller is functioning as system controller, the SCON LED is turned on.
